I got a tattoo

The idea of getting a tattoo has - ever since I can remember - been so right to me. The thought that something can stay on you permanently - when everything else in your life is changing constantly - is beautiful to me. You'll see it change and fade the older it gets. The older you get. It will have seen so many important - both happy and sad - events in your life. Or it might even be a memory of something that's important to you. It will have seen you change and become the person you are. The ink will spread in your pores and the tattoo might not even look like it did, when you first got it. It's of proof that it has lived. That you have lived. It will grow old with you. One might say it's the wallflower of your life. And if that's not beautiful I don't know what is.
